Doctors generally recommend repeating Pap testing every three years for women ages 21 to 65. Women age 30 and older can consider Pap testing every five years if the procedure is combined with testing for HPV.

A Pap smear test is very a safe test. Most people can experience mild cramping during the test.

The Pap test (or Pap smear) tells us about any precancers or cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated appropriately.

Using your hands, gently check the entire breast area and armpit for any lumps. Use light, medium, and firm pressure. Squeeze the nipple; check for discharge and lumps.

Recent research has shown lifestyle changes play an important part in the prevention of breast cancer. Eating a healthy diet, being physically active, and avoiding smoking and alcohol use influence the occurrence of breast cancer among women.
